The Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme is an organisation that supports and promotes Volunteering opportunities for people over the age of 50. It has formed groups on the Island.

The first formed group was started at Llangoed. The group meets at Pont y Brenin Sheltered Housing Communal room on the 4th Monday of every month at 2pm.

There are currently 15 members, who take on knitting/sewing projects, to raise funds for the benefit of the community. Also there are 3 members who attend the local primary school, listening to children read and are involved with their craft projects.

It also invites residents of the sheltered housing to come along for a cup of tea and a chat; some have even joined RSVP.

We are hoping to develop into other areas of volunteering, so if you are interested in volunteering for the benefit of your community, please come along; everyone is welcome!
